What is Belegerl?
A receipt app for small businesses. You snap till receipts and invoices, Belegerl reads supplier, date, amount and VAT, you confirm with one tap, and the receipt is filed as a tidy PDF, ready for your accountant too.
Can I use Belegerl already?
Yes. Belegerl is live (beta) and open to everyone: it runs right in the browser on phone, tablet and computer. You can look around without an account using sample receipts; for your own receipts you create an account at belegerl.ai/app. Native apps for the App Store and Google Play are planned.
Is Belegerl accounting software?
No. Belegerl is receipt filing and reporting. Your bookkeeping stays with your accountant, who gets everything as an export with PDFs, Excel tables and CSV.
What does Belegerl cost?
Free stays free forever (10 receipts a month). On top there are three plans: Solo €16.90 (1 person), Duo €31.90 (2 people) and Business €69.90 (up to 5 people) per month, excl. VAT. You can try Solo and Duo free for 14 days, no payment details needed.
Which export formats are there?
Your choice: a ZIP with all PDFs in monthly folders plus a ready-made Excel file and CSV, just the Excel file with ready-made tables – receipts, by VAT rate (even when 10 % and 20 % are mixed on one receipt), by category, by month and tips –, or additionally the booking file for DATEV, BMD or Banana. From Duo you can also export just the scanned line items as CSV.
Can I export just the line items?
Yes, from Duo. In the export area, next to the ZIP for your accountant, there is the button “Export items only”: all scanned items from the receipts you tick in the chosen period go into one CSV – without PDFs, discounts and deposits. You choose the columns (e.g. date, supplier, quantity, unit price, total, VAT rate) and the product group. Opens straight in Excel or Numbers. In Free and Solo you see the button with a note on the matching plan; you can try Duo free for 14 days.
Where is my data stored?
On a server in Germany (Hetzner, Nuremberg). Receipt files are stored there encrypted with AES-256, every transfer runs over HTTPS. To read a receipt we send it to Anthropic’s AI service; it is not used for training there and is usually deleted within 30 days. You can export everything and delete it at any time. More under Security (German).
Who can see my receipts?
Only you and the people you invite to your company. Staff only see their own uploads, your accountant reads and exports. Our team sees usage figures in the admin area, but no receipt images.
Is there a data processing agreement (DPA)?
Yes. For businesses our data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR applies automatically together with the terms. You find it with the technical measures and the list of our service providers at belegerl.ai/avv (German) and can save it as a PDF.
I found a bug or have an idea – where do I send it?
Ideally right in the app: tap “Feedback (Beta)” or “Beta” at the top, choose bug, idea or question, describe it briefly and attach a screenshot if you like. The message goes straight to our team, you get the answer in the app and by e-mail. Belegerl is in beta – every piece of feedback helps us a lot.
Does Belegerl work without an account?
For looking around, yes: you can click through the app with sample receipts (look around without an account). Saving your own receipts needs a sign-in with Google or e-mail.
